A $15,000 grant from the Nareit Foundation to the nonprofit Arc of Maui County is helping 20 residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities live more independently in four group homes on Maui.

Leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday, Nareit Hawaii Executive Director Gladys Quinto Marrone had the privilege of awarding much-needed grants to two nonprofits committed to helping the less fortunate and those needing assistance.

A workforce family will be moving into a new, affordable home on Hawaii Island thanks to a $180,000 grant presented by the Nareit Foundation to the nonprofit Hawaii Island Community Development Corporation (HICDC).
